For Martin Theron, owner, manager, qualified outfitter and professional hunter, the hunting and wildlife industry has always been more than a profession. It has been a way of life. Over the years, his experience and passion developed into a vision of creating a destination where guests from around the world could experience the beauty and unique character of South Africa while enjoying the personal attention of a family-owned safari operation.

That vision became Maritana Safaris.

Together, Martin and his wife, Rita, are creating a destination where traditional South African hospitality meets the adventure, wildlife and natural beauty of the Northern Cape. As owners and hosts, they take pride in welcoming every guest personally and creating an atmosphere that feels warm, genuine and distinctly personal.

For us, hospitality is about more than simply providing a service. It is about getting to know our guests, understanding what makes their visit special and ensuring that they feel genuinely welcome throughout their stay. We combine the warmth and character of a family-owned destination with the professionalism and attention to detail expected by guests travelling from around the world.
